Inside Kung Fu 5
Painter
March 2006

This is an illustration about the Teacher/Student relationship in Inside Kung Fu Magazine. I bought a copy of Painter finally after being a stout user of Photoshop. Unfortunately, my mac was too old to run the software, so I had to borrow one of my husband's PCs. Not being very wary of the PC, the file became hung up during a save and I did an "end program now" which made me lose my file. Luckily I had a really old version on my mac which I was able to rebuild. Boy was I mad. Never the less, I had a lot of fun experimenting with the brushes in Painter. It probably took me a lot longer to paint than Photoshop but well worth the experience. The characters are a homage to Pai Mei from "Kill Bill" and a Chinese comic I used to collect when I was young. I couldn't decipher the Chinese, but loved the art.
